IMMUNOLOGICAL DISEASES

  • Cancer

  • Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

People undergoing cancer treatment often have many psychological and physical adverse effects as a result of their cancer and the treatment for it. Some studies have suggested that exercise may be helpful in reducing negative outcomes and improving the quality and longevity of life in cancer patients who are undergoing treatment.

A review of 56 trials with a total of 4826 cancer patients concluded that exercise improves the overall quality of life right after completion of the exercise programme. Exercise also improves the person’s physical ability and the way they function in society. Importantly, exercise reduced tiredness during treatment and speed-up physical recovery after cessation of treatment. The positive effects of exercise is greater when the exercise is done in a supervised environment.

Extreme fatigue, tiredness and perpetuating physical decline are also characteristics of CFS, fibromyalgia, and MS. The benefits of exercise for individuals with these conditions have been demonstrated but also seem to be directly related to aspects like meticulous, prescription and monitoring procedures to prevent overexertion. We will tailor the programme to your needs and abilities and our daily (pre-, during and post training) monitor procedures will ensure that you don't overexert yourself.
